Malcolm has been involved in the film and television industry for 40 years and the last thirty years he has worked as a Director of Photography. A perfectionist in his field this happy jovial lad has travelled the world and worked on numerous documentaries for the National Geographic Society. He cites his favourite country visited as China and recalls the wonderful experience of working on a documentary on Panda Bears in 1994.

He loves seafood and is always prepared to taste the dishes cooked on the set of “Out of the Blue” just to ensure they are a success. Mal is quick witted, fun to work with, keeps the team smiling at all times and helps provides the backbone of stability with his serious commitment to getting the best pictures in the "can". A truly professional approach to his work, Mal works hard but it’s all for the reward of a good red wine at the end of the day. It is not often that one enjoys their work as much as Mal and this is clearly reflected in the end result.

Married to Robin with a son and daughter, he loves to relax at his holiday house on the Murray when not on location.

He claims his favourite food is fish and especially the way the boys cook it!
